Bioengineering Researcher Scholars Program: Mammalian Cell and Tissue Culture

About the Bioengineering Research Scholars Program

This is an opportunity for you to gain skills and knowledge of mammalian cell and tissue cultures using in the research industry when investigating the causes and treatments for diseases. The programme will also introduce you to the foundations of degrees such as Biological Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, Biotechnology, and Bioengineering.


During this program you will:

1. Plan, prepare, and deliver solutions to propagate mammalian cells and grow tissues.

2. Obtain digital microscopy images of cells, tissues, and cultures.

3. Interpret biochemical assays to quantify cell and tissue growth.

4. Analyse data.


You will get hands-on with special equipment including: pipettes, culture plates, and digital light microscopes - as you will be participating remotely, you will receive a loan lab kit which is included in the price of tuition.


What will I need to participate?

You will need access to a computer and a mobile phone, both of which require internet, camera, microphone, audio output, web browser, and zoom software installed.


How must is the the cost to participate?

The cost of the programme is $2,600, including loan of equipment.
