Political Futures: Program for Yr 12/IB1 students

Political Futures is a (mostly) online sustained programme for YR12/IB1 students interested in further study in Politics, International Relations and Economics at a Russell Group University. It will be especially relevant for those currently studying subjects including Politics, Sociology, Economics, Business Studies, History, Sociology, Geography and Maths.

The programme will have 12 opportunities to engage between February and December 2022 via a range of taster webinars and masterclasses, and including dedicated time on campus.

In addition to this we will run sessions in Autumn 2022 to help with transition skills and knowledge supporting young people on their journey to Higher Education: looking at Personal Statements, How to Choose a Course, Revision Skills, Student Finance.

On top of all this will be the opportunity to meet current University of Leeds students and academic staff, as well as admissions staff to find out exactly what you need to know to be confident in your decisions for the future. It will be especially useful to students who are unsure about exactly what course to study in this very broad field, as well as those that are looking for a relevant and valuable experience to support their UCAS applications.

Preference for places will be given to those that meet the criteria outlined in the information, however applications will also be considered from those that demonstrate an interest in this area of study.

Runs from 15th February to 13th December 2022 (12 sessions in total).

Sessions are after school (4:30 -5:30)

Application sign up deadline 31st January 2022.
