  • London Anthropology Day (online) 29 June 2021

    A free annual university taster day for Year 12 (IB1), Year 13 (IB2) FE and Gap Year Students, careers advisers and teachers, organised by the Royal Anthropological Institute. This year the whole event is virtual, making it even more accessible than usual.

  • Learn more about Northwestern University

    From 6 July, Northwestern will be offering modified in person tours, each tour will be limited to a small number of visitors and will take place outdoors. While we will not be resuming our indoor information sessions just yet, each tour will last approximately 75 minutes to ensure we cover everything.   • Carnegie Mellon University extends Test-Optional Policy

    This was Carnegie Mellon's first test-optional admission cycle, and we experienced a 25% increase in applications - the largest application increase in our history. The breakdown of students who opted to submit SAT or ACT scores for consideration was: 56.8% of applicants 65.8% of admitted students 63.8% of enrolled students Looking ahead, we've extended our test-optional policy through Fall 2022, removing the SAT/ACT standardized testing requirement for all first-year applicants. There hasn't yet been a decision made for testing requirements beyond Fall 2022, but we'll share updates as soon as they're available. We're currently offering both online and on campus visit opportunities for prospective students to learn more about the Carnegie Mellon community. We'll continue to update our website as additional on campus offerings become available.

    This summer, get a head start on your college search by attending one of NYU's Virtual Information Sessions. Learn about NYU's academic offerings, the application process, and more from one of our admissions counselors and get your questions answered live by a panel of current students. Summer is the most popular time to learn about NYU, so we recommend you register early as sessions may fill up quickly.   • Free course - Project Management: Beyond the Basics

    The Association for Project Management in collaboration with the Open University have developed a free online MOOC (Massively open online course) to help you build your existing project management knowledge and develop the skills to manage teams and deliver effective projects. This is also a great opportunity for anyone considering studying or a career in project management to see what it has to offer. You can learn at your own pace during this 4 week course which requires about 3 hours of study time a week.

  • Loughborough University: Virtual Open Day Sat 3 July

    This year our Open Days will be online, with the first one happening this Saturday, 3rd July – content will remain online after this for you to access. Virtual Open Days are a great way for students to get a feel for a university and a course – and meet our academic and subject ambassadors, chat to staff from our accommodation team, student support services and the Students’ Union from the comfort of your home.

  • UK University & Apprenticeship Search: Virtual Fair

    14 July 2021 12:00-18:00 (BST) A new UK University & Apprenticeship Search Virtual Fair is taking place on Wednesday 14th July 2021 from 12:00 to 18:00 (BST). This event will allow you to explore all your post-18 options in one place, with a huge range of exhibitors coming along. Universities will include Russell Group, red brick, modern and specialist institutions, as well as colleges and apprenticeship providers. You’ll be able to explore exhibition stands, live chat with admissions officers, student ambassadors, academics and recruitment teams to ask any questions you have, view virtual campus tours, prospectuses and information, and take part in 10 live and interactive webinars in the auditorium. The event is completely free of charge and is for students, teachers and parents from around the UK, and international students looking to study in the UK. The event is ideal for Year 12s (IB1) to explore all the fantastic higher education and career options available, as well as being a fantastic way for Year 11s (Pre-IB) to gain motivation and inspiration. We also recommend attending if you are currently in Year 13 (IB2 or on a Gap Year), and undecided about your post-18 options. The event will allow you to consider the universities you can apply to during Clearing & Adjustment or you can explore apprenticeships if you are looking to take that path.

  • Join the Department of Computer Science at the University of Oxford Virtual Open Days

    Wednesday 30 June and Thursday 1 July We will have a number of videos available throughout both days, created by our staff and students. These include advice on making a competitive application, a virtual tour of the Department, and some sample lectures. Our academic tutors and students will be available throughout the day (8am to 5pm) to answer your questions via live text-based chat. We will have livestream videos running both days. We have an admissions question and answer livestream at 1pm each day, featuring our tutors, and a student question and answer session at 3pm each day.   • Minerva Virtual Applicant Preview Day July 17

    Minerva is a unique institution, with a fully active learning pedagogy and experiential student programming. Their highly innovative and multi-campus experience has earned them the title of 3rd most innovative university in the world in the 2021 report by World's Universities with Real Impact (WURI) On July 17, students interested in an innovative undergraduate experience are invited to join Meridians, Minerva’s virtual applicant preview day. The day begins with a collaborative design sprint to help you imagine your dream university and includes interactive info sessions with current Minerva students, faculty, and admissions team members.   • Advanced Maths Support Programme (AMSP) free online course

    The Advanced Maths Support Programme (AMSP) supports students in making the transition to university study in mathematics and related subjects. They are offering a free online course designed specially to support students who have studied A level Mathematics and are progressing to an undergraduate degree course this autumn. This is a free online course supporting any year 13 (IB2) Mathematics students making the transition to university study: https://amsp.org.uk/news/he-transition-course. The course is available from 28 June 2021 and each week a further two topics will be released. The course consists of recorded presentations, practice exercises and assessment materials. You can join the course at any point and you will have access to the materials until 31 December 2021 so that you can continue to refer to the materials during your first term at university.
