WPI is a project-based, STEM-focused university which values collaboration over competition.
About the institution
Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) is a highly selective university in Massachusetts, offering degrees in sciences, engineering, computer science, math, and business. Our signature project-based approach to undergraduate education, known as the WPI Plan, is vital in preparing students for the real world. WPI’s motto is “Theory and Practice” and our students learn best by doing. At WPI you can cross disciplines, complete a double major, complete an accelerated BS/MS, or add a specialized minor (or two!). Participating in a global experience is also an invaluable part of a WPI education, and admitted students receive up to $5,000 to complete a project across the city or around the world. Graduates from WPI have so much hands on experience through their projects that employers like Tesla, Google, Amazon Robotics, and GE are eager to hire them, and our average graduate earns a salary of $73,000 per year.
